Research Poll Reveals Insight Into Your Note-writing Habits

You love getting them!

Those little handwritten notes that show up every-now-and-then in your mailbox.

You know that someone has thought enough of you to take the time to write a personal note just for you.  They are stepping away from the computer and putting down the cell phone to send you a truly meaningful message.

This is the type of mail you always open.  It’s never ignored.

If receiving handwritten mail means so much to us, why don’t we send notes to others more often?

We conducted a simple online, 1-question survey to discover what would most help people to mail more handwritten cards.

The results may surprise you.  They did us.

You can scroll on down to the bottom for the infographic of the results.  But first, here’s our thoughts on the survey results.

And, how we plan on using this information to help inspire you to write more handwritten notes.

What’s Needed Most

Traditionally, it has been rules on etiquette.

That’s why the classic book Emily Post’s Etiquette is now in its 18th printed edition.  This newest version even includes etiquette tips for social media, cell phones and texting.

But results from our survey put etiquette close to the bottom of what people rated as most helpful.

Now, etiquette is still important.  But it’s not what’s keeping people from sending handwritten mail.

Here’s a sneak peak at the results.  The top three rated most helpful were:

  1. Time to write
  2. Cost of cards and postage
  3. Knowing what to write

Your schedule is hectic.  You work hard for your money.  And writer’s block happens to us all, even in a greeting card.

At R&B Printery, we’re not just about creating inspiring works of card art.  We also want to educate, encourage, and inspire your handwritten memories.

So, we’ve listened to the survey results.

Here’s our commitment to you.
