Custom Orders FAQ

If you have a specific question not answered here, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about our custom stationery services.

How is letterpress different than other printing techniques?

Letterpress printing is a manual process that uses antique equipment and hand-mixed inks to impress a print into the paper.  Your print is actually pressed deeply into the paper, leaving a printed indentation.

Most other traditional printing techniques leave either a smooth or raised image on the surface of the paper.

Do you design logos?

No.  We work with your existing logo and branding.  However, we can create unique card designs and stationery based on your logo, color palette, fonts, and other promotional materials.

Do you come up with the design or do I?

Most business orders begin with your current logo or branding.  If you have an idea for a design that you would like printed, you can submit those during the initial consultation.  We will work closely with you to discuss your design ideas, while working to create a unique print that showcases your personality, business, and the tactile characteristics of the letterpress printing process.

What color envelope options do you have?

We use only the highest quality sustainable recycled papers, envelopes, and packaging.  Our lines of recycled envelope options are always evolving, as we are always on the search for 100% recycled envelopes, bot for our standard in-house offerings and our color envelope upgrades. View our color envelope options to see a range of 100% and 30% Post-Consumer Waste Recycled envelopes available for your notecards, stationery, and special event invitations.

How long does it take to receive my order?

The complexity of your card design and the approval process will dictate the time required to obtain a finalized and approved printing design.  Once you have approved your design, the time from approval to shipment is generally 2 weeks.  We can process rush orders for an additional fee.

What are the acceptable file types that you accept for logos and design ideas?

We request that all professional-quality design be submitted in Adobe Illustrator, professional-grade PDF, SVG or EPS file format.   Standard picture formats or image scans submitted in JPG, PNG, PDF, TIFF, GIF, etc. will incur an additional file prep charge.

What do you need in order to match the color of our logo or branding?

If you submit a professionally-prepared graphic file, the color palette of your logo and branding is normally set within the program file.  If you are concerned about color matching, you may also postal mail us samples of your promotional materials.  We can use these to ensure that your printed stationery matches your other printed materials.

What if I don’t like what you design for me?

We don’t print until you’re happy!  We work closely with you to ensure we are creating a design that meets your expectations and personal style.  Through the proofing process, you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and request design modifications.  We only print once you have approved your card design.
